Euro Growth Indicator October 2015

Recovery in the euro area, but until when?

According to the October EUROGROWTH indicator, growth in the euro area will remain steady with growth of 0.7 and 0.6 per cent in the third and fourth quarters of 2015, respectively. The recovery is, however, driven by the effects of positive external shocks that will fade soon, and it remains uncertain whether a self-sustained upward momentum will unfold.

Euro Area Recovery Is Holding Steady – So Far

Growth in the euro area will pick up to a rate of 0.6 per cent in the third quarter and decelerate only slightly to 0.5 per cent in the final quarter of 2015, according to the September EUROGROWTH indicator. The recent deterioration of economic sentiment, however, flashes a warning light and indicates that the risks for the recovery may have risen.

Euro Growth Indicator August 2015

Euro Area growth is gaining momentum

Euro area growth is strengthening in the course of this year according to the August estimate of the EUROGROWTH Indicator. The indicator points to a further acceleration of growth to 0.6 and 0.7 per cent in the second and third quarter of this year, respectively. The estimated growth rates are the highest since winter 2010/2011.
